Publications

  • Book:  The CIA and Congress: The Untold Story from Truman to Kennedy (forthcoming, 2005, University Press of Kansas). Sample previously classified documents.

  • Book: Lyndon B. Johnson's Vietnam Papers: A Documentary Collection, (1997, Texas A & M University Press). An edited collection of 600 previously classified documents, including notes of White House meetings, transcripts and notes of phone calls, diary entries, etc., which give an intimate look at LBJ's White House deliberations. Most of these documents have not been previously published in any book. View sample documents. Comments from pre-publication reviews: "It will prove an invaluable aid to anyone who has a research interest in America's involvement in Vietnam...anyone with more than a passing interest in Vietnam will find it a useful addition to his or her library. It will be a must-have item for all graduate, undergraduate, and public libraries." "Offers a highly useful collection of materials which closes many of the gaps in the Pentagon Papers. It will make good reading on its own, and is likely to have considerable use in history and political science classes."
